Martha Washington Room

The first of First Ladies, Martha Washington was about five feet tall, with dark hair and a gentle demeanor. Her great concern was the happiness of her husband George and her children.

This cozy room has an oriental flair and soft beauty that the First Lady herself would enjoy. The antique four-poster bed, converted to queen size for today’s comfort, is the focal point of this quaint, intimate bed chamber.

The blue walls are reminiscent of the bedroom shared by George and Martha Washington at their Mount Vernon home.
