GoWilliamsburg Marketing Campaign

These are exciting times for Williamsburg.  The entire community is a buzz with activity, planning, new ideas, initiatives and events.  Two wonderful initiatives are bringing the community together which, if successful, will position Williamsburg as a wonderful weeklong destination.

Last year faced with declining visitations, the community sponsored a bill through the Virginia legislature to raise marketing funds for the Williamsburg area.

The resulting legislation created the Williamsburg Area Destination Marketing Committee was formed aka WADM(a)C.  Comprised of many high-ranking community leaders, they immediately set about to develop a strategy and create a promotional campaign.

VisitWilliamsburg is one of the resulting campaign.  If you live in New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Washington or Baltimore...look for VisitWilliamsburg!

The advertising strategy -

  • to promoted the Williamsburg area like no other family vacation destination...so much to do, so much diversity, so much that's new, so much that's unexpected
  • There is truly something fun for the entire family...a place where rich American history comes alive, world-class coasters are abundant and go long on five-star championship golf courses all within close proximity of one another, in a beautiful natural setting.
